Alcohol Withdrawal
People who drink alcohol on a regular basis become tolerant to many of the unpleasant effects and can therefore drink more before suffering these effects. With continued consumption, many such drinkers do not appear intoxicated. Sometimes, damage is not recognized until it has become severe, often not until they experience alcohol withdrawal. Psychological addiction to alcohol can occur with regular use of even relatively moderate amounts. This can also occur in people who consume alcohol under certain situations, such as a social occasion. People can experience psychological cravings for alcohol although not necessarily consuming enough to become intoxicated. Physical addiction to alcohol occurs in consistent heavy drinkers. Once they stop drinking alcohol, they can suffer from Alcohol Withdrawal.
